Who are we?
We're a team of lifelong learners, an enthusiast community to support individuals through the lifelong learning revolution.
In other words, "The AS8 organization" is a community for Bangladeshi developers to collaborate on projects, connect with each-others, and grow together. There are tons of resources on the internet, but most of the typical Bangladeshi students find it difficult to start their programming journey. We are here to help you out by providing necessary resources, mentorship, and organizing code jams, hackathons, and different events throughout the year. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of learning in innovative ways and to create a learning experience that is fun, fruitful, and rewarding.
How it started?
In 2020 during the lockdown, Ahammad Shawki thought to guide some of his friends so that they can start their programming journey. After hosting more than 20 online classes on Zoom, he was able to teach them the basics of Python programming and also told them that there's a long way they have to go in their coding career.
After completing this successful "PyCampaign", he thought he could make it more formal and share the campaign tutorials online so that others people can be benefitted as well. However, the idea wasn't so effective back then as there was a lack of resources for recording tutorials. But, Ahammad never doubted that idea.
He eventually joined a few global developer communities and find that they are very helpful to the new learners. They help the new learners in many ways; they motivate them, mentor them and organize different events for ensuring a continuous learning environment.
He also found that there are very few communities for young developers in Bangladesh. But most of the school students in our country want to be a programmer and they often failed because of misconceptions about programming. So, he finally worked on his previous plan for months and created this organization.
After that, we have joined this community and worked (and currently working) as a team for the development of this organization.
What have we planned for you?
Currently, we are more focusing on creating a learning environment where students and mentors can interact continuously. We have also planned to organize different events like discussions, meetups, workshops, hackathons, code jams throughout the year. We will also create study resources like articles, tutorials, books for the students. Our next event will be a workshop event where different domain experts will teach the students how to start their journey in different fields of tech. First of all, we are clarifying that our community is a non-profit organization. We will help students completely free of cost. For working towards that vision, we need a team of amazing people. Our community is now in the initial stage. If you are an expert in a specific skill that can be helpful for us and if want to help not only us but also the aspiring students, you are invited to join us.
Note that, you don't need to be a programmer/developer to join our community. If you are a graphics designer, video editor, social influencer, blog writer, etc. you can join us too.
